Hi,

A user submit a link this way :http://www.mydomain.com/PWP/Distribut...

Il looks this way on the manager, but on the front, it appears and point to http://www.mydomain.com

We need to get the complete url for the front, in order to be able to have this kind of link

I just check again.

The front url goes to mydomain.com/mypage.html perfectly, but from the manager, the link just go to mydomain.com....

I think I finally understood the behavior.

You use a direct link for the front : www.mydomain.com, different from the link submitted with the backlink.

This is a nice idea, but there are 3 problems:

1) If the default page is not www.mydomain.com/mypage.html (not the usual one with www.mydomain.com/index.html for example), the thumbnail is created with a blank image. You can check this one for exemple on this link : . I know this is because the website is probably misconfigured, but still...)

2) if the website is an affiliate website or vanity website (www.mydomain.com/userid, it takes the thumbnail from www.mydomain.com, not the affiliate one

3) For case 2, the link goes on front to the main website, not the affiliate one.

I can change the url in the database, but would be nice to edit and change url submited or url for the front (see my last request about this)

We had not anticipated the affiliate URL issue.

That being said, the who point of the module is for the back links, not really to generate super user duper looking linking module.

The point of the back links is to benefit from Google raising your site because others are linking to you. The fact that there is a nice thumbnail is really just a bonus for the listing, and not the purpose.

Because back linked listings are only approved, and after that the page with the back link is automatically submitted to google for indexing. This way you are guaranteed to get the benefit of the back link.

Don't worry, I agree with that. This is a great module, and the only one really automatic on DNN.

Still, if it can be improved, this would be great. I think just a way to edit each link would be great, and add on this edit also the 2 urls. This way, if a webmaster wants to make some twicking for a website, he could do it.

Just a suggestion.
